The EOS R10 puts a 24.2MP APS-C sensor and Canon's latest DIGIC X engine into a compact, SLR-shaped body so you get sharp stills, reliable colour and responsive controls without lugging heavy glass. ## What makes it worth it The R10's Dual Pixel CMOS AF II (many hundreds of AF zones and subject detection borrowed from Canon's R3 family) nails people, animals and vehicles even at odd angles, which is rare at this price. Its high-speed shooting—15fps with the mechanical shutter and a class-leading 23fps electronic burst plus RAW pre-shot—makes it effortless to capture decisive moments. Video is genuinely useful: you get 4K up to 60p (with crop in some modes) and Canon colour science, so quick hybrid shoots look good straight out of camera. ## Where it falls short It has no in-body image stabilisation, so handheld stills and video rely on lens IS or electronic correction; that limits low-light and gimbal-free video performance compared with IBIS-equipped rivals. The electronic viewfinder is also smaller and a touch lower-res than some competitors, and noise climbs noticeably above ISO 3200. Buy this if you want a compact, fast APS-C hybrid that prioritises autofocus and burst speed for action and social video; look elsewhere if you need IBIS, the best low-light files, or a larger EVF.
